Hello Kitty, our reflector cat

This blogpost is updated from its original posting after my deep-dive into Human Design for Animals.

Did you know that animals have a Human Design chart, too? I resisted the idea for a long time, even though I had fully integrated Human Design into my life. But that is how I work, with my defined crown chakra: I have a mental resistance towards anything new that I can not logically understand. But after contemplating for a while, I decided to dive a little deeper into Human Design for animals.

But first, meet Kitty!

She is an 11-year-old Siberian cat who, funnily enough, hates snow, rain, and windy weather. We say that it is because she was born in Kristiansand, a small town in the most southern part of Norway, known for its long and nice summers. While they also have snow during winter, it reminds nothing of good old Siberia in Russia, where the breed comes from.

Anyway, ever since Kitty moved in with us over 11 years ago, she has been very different from all the other cats we have had over the years. Not only that, she does not like the long, wet, cold, and sometimes snowy winters we have here at Sola, just like her owner. But how she is around us, two-legged creatures, is also very different from the other cats that have shared residence with us.

Whenever we have a headache, a tummy ache, feel sad, or when we have fractured bones (yes, in plural, because we tend to draw sporting casualties towards us), she will come and lie down on us, preferably on top of where the wound is.

When I came home from the hospital with the fractured arm, which the doctor had hours before pulled into place (which hurt like hell, to be completely honest), Kitty got very frustrated when I could not allow her to lie on top of the cast. We came to an agreement that she could lie next to my arm, and she quietly went along with it, displaying that this was not her selected or preferred place to heal me from.

Out of curiosity, I looked up her bodygraph chart, and it was no surprise to me that Kitty is a Reflector energy type cat.

About 70% of animals are reflectors. This is in contrast to us humans, where only 1% of the population is the reflector energy type.

A Reflector is here to mirror other beings' energy, and they know what others need to feel better. They are very wise, intuitive, empathic, and sensitive beings who sense others' energies.

Kitty has also gate 57, the gate of Intuition, in two placements in her chart. She has inner wisdom and just knows. And unlike us humans who tend to ignore when gate 57 gives us subtle signs from our spleens, Kitty will instinctively react to whatever gate 57 gives her of wisdom.

She has gate 38, the gate of the warrior, which is not a shock to me either. If a cat has 9 lives, Kitty is now on her 10th. At least. You would not believe what she has managed to survive over the years. Even the vet is surprised by all that she manages to pull through.

This includes eating a rubber hose from a gas tank where the chewed-off pieces blocked her intestine, which again caused a leak into her belly. She barely survived the surgery.

And a summer a few years ago, she was stuck in an old garage for 22 days without food or water. Our whole neighborhood looked for her. She did not come forward until I followed my gate 57 and listened to what it was telling me, and asked the garage owner if I could come myself and search the garage even though he had already done it. After a few calls out, I heard a little cry. She barely survived, once again, but she pulled through.

Her way of bonding with us shows in gate 50, which is the gate of Values. Her gate 50 pairs up with my gate 27, so together we form the channel of caring. And we do care about our tribe of loved ones, and we will defend them with all we have.

When we had 5 little chickens roaming around in our backyard, Kitty was the one to guard them. She knew they belonged to our pack, and she did not try to hunt them down, which she sometimes does with the birds living in our garden. Kitty protected the chicks with claws out in the most fierce way, and should someone from the outside come to grab a little snack-to-go, she was there to chase them away, no matter their size.

Even though all animals have personalities, just like us human beings, it has been an eye-opener to me to get to know Kitty’s design.

If you have an animal and you are curious about what Human Design they have, feel free to get in touch. I will be happy to make a full Animal Human Design report for your favorite pet.
