How to get unstuck
As I am sitting in my greenhouse soaking in the sun, I can see how the greens I am growing this year have grown lots and lots over these past few weeks.
Stretching towards the light, they do not ask for permission to grow; they just do.
And they are not stuck in their knowledge of how to grow. It comes naturally to them.
They move from a seed to a seedling to a bud to a flower. Expanding and unapologetically claiming their space and fulfilling their purpose.
Plants are nature. Humans are nature. And yet we try not to be. We try to be something different, something better, and something that most definitely is not what resonates for many of us. If we can not claim to be knowledgeable about our why, we might as well just let it be.
So we get stuck. We do not grow. We do not expand. We do not rid ourselves of what is holding us back. We explode and we implode before we return to our status quo. It is better to return to what we have instead of changing, even if that is to a place that holds us back instead of allowing growth.

Tell a small tree to stop growing.
Tell a fresh flower to stop blooming.
Tell a plant to give up on producing nutritious leaves.
They will, at some point, do. But not until it is time to do so.
And that goes for us humans as well. We can grow, bloom, expand, and get rid of what has to go in cycles just like nature so elegantly does.
Therefore, knowledge is not enough. If knowing only would have worked for me, I would have been unstuck 20 years ago. It was not until I integrated movement with knowledge that I could relieve my body of what it was holding on to. I stopped my growth.
Getting the knowledge of Human Design was a game changer for me. Doing different practices to add movement to my knowledge base was key to getting unstuck.
Holotropic breathwork, restorative and flow yoga, chakra movement, grounding on grass, forest bathing, chanting, and walks in nature have all been essential in my process.
If you are feeling stuck and can not understand why or how to get rid of the feeling, seek advice from someone who specializes in bodywork of some kind. Invest in yourself. Not just with time but also with money.
Even if we deny ourselves the ability to grow, we still have the longing for it. Because being stuck does not work for most of us over time.
Bodies that are stuck will remain stuck until you actively seek change.
I am not saying this is easy. It is most definitely not. Growing is painful. The line from the Swedish poem by Karin Boye
“Ja visst gör det ont när knoppar brister, ont för det som växer och det som stänger” / “Yes, of course it hurts when buds are breaking. Why else would the springtime falter?”,
says it all.
But it is worth it. When you are at your fullest potential, we all benefit from it. And we would love for you to grow so we collectively can grow as well.
And no, I do not mean that you need to follow a long list of do’s and don’ts every day. Life must unfold without more pressure than necessary.
Embrace the surrounding energies of growth and new beginnings at this time of the year. Integrate all your knowledge by moving in whatever way resonates with you.
If you have a defined motor center, and especially a defined sacral, you have the potential to have more energy for your movement than those with undefined motor centers. You know what works for you, but you must listen inwards.
And if listening inwards does not give you any answer, start by moving your body slowly. Let the body lead your way into movement. Seek out a somatic expert. Treat yourself to a massage. Go to a yoga class. Attend a holotropic breathwork workshop. Take a run on the beach. Hike your nearest mountain. And aim for being whilst you are doing. The goal is not to be the fastest but to be present in the moment, allowing your body to tell you how you can get unstuck.
If all else fails, do what I love to do: Put on the song “The Power” from Snap and go for it. Dance like no one is watching, and reclaim your power.
Happy un-stucking!
