Gate 26 - The Gate of the Egoist / Own Resources

As the year draws to a close, the sun continues to move through the mandala, and today it enters gate 26, the gate of the egoist/own resources.

Many of us resist the word “egoist” because we have been told it is bad to be an egoist. But think of the meaning of egoist as someone who is in charge of their own resources. 

On the gift side, this gate encourages us to use our resources to the best of the tribe. We might want to be first or best at something and still see the importance of getting something done without necessarily taking the credit for it. 

Your words have the power to manipulate others, so make sure that you act from a place of integrity. This attribute is also why some call this the gate of the efficient salesperson! Ask yourself: Are you aligned with your integrity when it comes to what you promise to do? 

If you find yourself lying or manipulating out of selfish egoism, take a step back and reconnect with your inner authority and strategy. Be mindful and honest about your intentions. Look for what can be done more efficiently to benefit the most.
